The Story

Reach for the Stars is a message that came from an unexpected friendship.

When I was starting Faultedlines, a friend named Mary Anne became an important source of advice and support. I first discovered her shop in 2021, when I happened across her pop-up at San Pedro Square during a random lunch break. After graduating, we unexpectedly became friends, and she gave me opportunities to learn by helping at her own shop.

Watching her journey and experiencing her generosity left me with a simple message: Reach for the stars.

This piece was created as a thank-you to MaryAnne and as a way to pass that message forward.

The illustration of a girl sitting among the clouds and holding a smiling star reflects the idea behind those words. Reaching for something doesn't guarantee you'll get exactly where you planned to go. But trying can still lead you somewhere beautiful.

Just in case you fall, you'll fall among the clouds.
