The Story

Alpaca and Ready started with a terrible pun and a very specific request.

While I was brainstorming sticker ideas for my first Kickstarter campaign about preparedness, I was struggling to figure out what to make. My roommate, who loves animals and has a wonderfully silly sense of humor, immediately came up with the idea:

“An alpaca with a backpack. Alpaca and ready! He needs a bucket hat and cool shades.”

And somehow, that was enough to get the idea moving.

At the time, my sister was my ghost illustrator, so I passed the idea along to her and she brought this adventure-ready alpaca to life.

What started as a silly pun became a little piece of Faultedlines history — combining preparedness, humor, friendship, and the excitement of being ready for wherever the next adventure takes you.

Sometimes the best ideas start with a bad pun and someone willing to run with it.
